My approach

Precision begins with the right diagnosis

The most important step in treatment is understanding the source of the problem. My approach combines a detailed clinical examination with an understanding of anatomy, nerve function and movement, supported when appropriate by imaging and other investigations. The aim is not simply to identify where it hurts, but to understand why so that treatment can be directed to what each patient actually needs.

My perspective

Clinical experience meets scientific research

  • Research-led care — My clinical approach is shaped by decades of research into hand and wrist function, peripheral nerve compressions, proprioception, pain and rehabilitation.
  • A complete assessment — I look beyond individual symptoms, considering anatomy, movement, strength, sensation and the course of the affected nerve or tissue.
  • International specialist care — I see patients in Lisbon and continue my clinical work as a visiting surgeon in Doha. Online expert consultations are also available for international patients.

Questions you may have

We're here to answer all your questions

Do I need a referral to book a consultation?
Referral requirements can vary depending on where and how you are being seen. Please contact the clinic or my team before booking if you are unsure.
Are consultations available in Doha?
Yes. I continue to visit Doha as a visiting consultant surgeon at Aspetar Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Hospital at selected times during the year.
How long is each consultation?
Consultation length depends on the type of appointment. Second-opinion reviews and more complex cases may require additional time so that relevant records and imaging can be properly reviewed.
What conditions do you treat?
My main areas of expertise include hand and wrist disorders, peripheral nerve injuries and compressions in the upper and lower extremities, chronic pain syndromes and sports-related hand, wrist and nerve conditions.
What are the consultation fees and payment arrangements?
Fees and payment arrangements depend on the type and location of the consultation. Current information will be provided when your appointment is scheduled.
Are virtual consultations available?
Yes. Online expert consultations and second opinions are available for selected international patients. During the consultation, relevant reports or imaging can be discussed where appropriate. An online consultation does not replace an in-person clinical examination when one is medically required.
